Dr. Adams is a licensed psychologist, licensed professional clinical counselor, a board-certified behavior analyst, and a Trust-Based Relational Interventions® (TBRI®) practitioner.  Although not an easy task, Dr. Adams is a proud adoptive parent of two teens and has managed so far to keep his sanity in the process. He serves as the President and Founder of New Life Psychology Group in Southern California.. In addition, Dr. Adams teaches behavior analysis as a part time professor at National University. As a trainer of Foster Kinship Care Education (FKCE) of Saddleback College, he enjoys teaching monthly workshops to foster and adoptive parents and professionals.  Understanding the hardships and challenges of raising children with traumatic backgrounds, Dr. Adams has a craft to incorporate his own experiences as an adoptive parent to his audience. The heart-warming story of Dr. Adams and his two adoptive children (Andrew and Kayla) was featured in CBS’ A Home for the Holiday in December 2019. Dr. Adams has written a book called “Trauma-Informed Foster and Adoptive Parenting: Methods for Managing Meltdowns, Mishaps, and Maladaptive Behaviors” published by Routledge Press.
