The challenges brought on by early adversity and childhood trauma are felt by every community. Whether you have experienced your own traumatic events, work with others who have trauma, or simply desire to understand — this conference will have something for you. We want to help parents, teachers, and community members be empowered in the healing process. Join us for an encouraging, hope-filled weekend.
Empowering those with trauma to understand how their history has shaped them, and equipping community members with knowledge and tools to help others on the healing journey.
Interconnectedness and belonging are vital to resilience. We believe we are all stronger when we are not isolated, but connected and sharing the experience of life together.
As Bruce Perry says, "A healthy community is a healing community, and a healing community is full of hope." We must be intentional about building the community of support we all need.
National Adoption Month
Foster and adoptive parents, we are excited to host the Healing Childhood Trauma Conference in November this year in celebration of National Adoption Month. In recognition of that, we are excited to honor you with an encouraging dinner Friday night. Join us for a catered dinner to celebrate you and allow you to connect with other foster and adoptive families. Anyone that would like to join us for this celebration is welcome.
Special guest John Fuller from Focus on the Family will join us, sharing his family's own adoption story.

After months of prayer John and Dena Fuller heard God saying, “Adopt.” The road was long and full of unexpected turns, leading them to a little boy in a Russian orphanage. Zane came with challenges they hadn't anticipated, and continual gaps — openings for God's grace. “He has rocked our world — and while that's a hard thing, it's also been good.” Their journey is a testament to what happens when a family says yes to God's leading — and the value of tenacity, adaptability, and community for adoptive families and children.
Expect lots of giveaways and fun as we celebrate adoption, foster parents, and their families. Dinner will be catered by Papa Vino's Italian restaurant in Warsaw.

Thursday, November 5th
Each year we do our best to respond to our survey responses, and this year is no different. We are adding a full day of pre-conference intensive classes for professionals and educators on Thursday, November 5th. This six hour day will include a light breakfast and lunch, NASW CEU certificates, and classes taught by some of our favorite and most requested speakers.
For professionals we will have classes taught by Dr. Adam Dell and Dr. Stephanie Grant. For educators and those that work with students, School Care Team will be teaching how you can best support your students with trauma, and how to deal with trauma-based behaviors.
Descriptions of each class are located on the schedule page, with space limited for each. Anyone is welcome to join us. We hope to see you there!
Hands down, the BEST conference I've ever attended. It was well put together with engaging speakers, incredible vulnerability, gut-wrenching stories and stories of redemption. I had practical tools to take home and use with my daughter who is struggling with trauma. There was a great sense of community that I have never felt before. And most of all, God was right there with us. I thought I was coming to be educated on trauma — I didn't expect such a profound impact on my heart, my faith and my spirituality. God is so good!! Thank you for this conference!!
2024 Trauma Conference AttendeeI attended for the first time last year as an active foster grandparent and was blown away. Honestly, I thought it couldn't be as great again — but it was! I left feeling better equipped, encouraged and energized to tackle challenges and enjoy victories. Thank you!
The Lost Sparrows Conference pours into participants spiritually as well as practically. As a foster child turned social worker, it validated my experience while providing tools and strategies to best support my foster families. It was raw and real.
It was incredibly powerful to be with a community of people who "get it." To cry and laugh together when we have those "Aha! You too?" moments — priceless. Lost Sparrows is doing a fantastic job creating safe and informative spaces for those doing this important work.
Several sessions have been approved by the National Association of Social Workers Indiana
Chapter for Continuing Education Hours for licensed social workers. Approved sessions are
marked on the schedule page with the
